Ceris felt a little better after talking with his dad. If the leader of Pyralis had felt the same as he did then maybe he shouldn't be too ashamed of it- maybe everyone felt that way their first time. ( SOUNDS LIKE SECKZZZZ. >.>) He ran quickly into the cave after his father, in sudden fear of night beasts. Tovan smiled at Cain and licked his face in return. " It's alright. What were you two talking about?" she asked, though she already had an idea. Croire and Solora fell asleep tangled up in each-other, exhausted. Blaine sat near the entrance and said, " I'll keep first watch." Lightning struck the sky behind him, making Ceris jump. So that's why Blaine wasn't playing with Croire and Solora.. Ceris realized after he'd settled down. He laid down in the back of the cave, far away from the lighting and the torrent of rain.

"Just the hunt. Things like that and stuff." Cain told in a voice as if it was nothing of huge importance. "Sheesh what a horrible storm. We're lucky it didn't come in earlier during the hunt." he started looking at the wind tearing up the trees. Not only was it stronge, but extremely loud. It howled like an army of wolves and the rain looked like it could dent stone. He glanced at her hoping his attempt to change the topic would work. Silas ventured over to Ceris and flopped to the ground. "Don't worry about the night monsters. With Blaine as lookout none of them will even dare to enter. Besides, I bet you could take all of them on by yourself." Silas said smiling and rolled on his back. "Night, Ceris." he yawned and tried to get some sleep.

Ceris awoke to a loud roar that echoed to fill the entire cave, deafening the small pup as he ran outside in fear. After catching his breath he decided that he should find out what kind of beast had made the terrible roar- it could be a night beast. His pack could be in danger, he realized. He sneakily crept back into the cave, his heart pounding heavily in his small chest. He headed in the direction of the sound when suddenly another roar escaped from the mouth of the beast, causing Ceris to shiver. He approached cautiously..the beast was right in front of him. He couldn't tell what it was in the darkness, but it was much bigger than him. Suddenly, it rolled over and yawned, showing it's sharp fangs as it moved closer. It opened one eye slowly, peering at Ceris through the darkness, it's lips curled up in a smirk. Suddenly, something kicked the head of the beast, causing it to grunt with pain. " Could you snore any louder, Croire?!" Tovan asked, kicking him again. " It's impossible to get any sleep around here." She muttered, opening her eyes and spotting Ceris sitting with his ears down, looking embarassed. She sighed and got up, stretching before leading Ceris outside. The sky was still cloudy, but it seemed peaceful and tranquil. Much unlike the storm from the night before. " Mommy?" Ceris asked, his ears erect. " Yes, Ceris?" She asked, curious. " I smell wolves. They don't smell like Pyralis." Tovan stood still for a moment, scenting the wolves who smelled of mud and rain. " Blaine- Solora!" She shouted to the two who were playing near the river. They immediately dashed over to her, Solora growling as she scented the strangers. The four Pyralis wolves bounded in the direction of the newcomers, snarls on their muzzles as they approached. Ceris tried to be brave. He was headed into battle, and was relieved that his mother was there since she was so strong and smart. Their pace slowed as they spotted a wolf approaching. He was orangeish in color though covered in mud. Tovan's eyes widened as she spotted a pup riding upon his back. She confronted the wolf, who came to a halt when he spotted her. The pup upon his back whimpered. " Who are you- and why have you come here?" She asked sternly. She couldn't place his scent, it was strange to her. Kaji placed Arden gently onto the ground before replying. " We are Kaji and Arden- from Lunaris." Tovan growled louder. " Lies. You don't smell anything of Lunaris. Besides- why would they come here anyway?" Tovan was suspicious of these wolves, and didn't want to take any chances. Suprisingly, Arden was the one to reply. " We don't smell like us because we've been traveling through the stormness and Kaji is new. You see, the Rebels killed my sister and Rowan, and we came here to be safe. On the way we found three new pack members to protects us." Tovan looked down at the pup and stopped growling. " Okay. So you're Lunaris," she said, not completely letting her guard down, though she supposed the pup had spoken the truth. " Where's Lameda then?" Kaji met Tovan's gaze and replied, " She'll be here in a minute. We were playing and we kind of got seperated." Tovan smiled slightly and relaxed. " Fair enough. We shall sit here until she arrives then." She barked loudly, informing the rest of her pack that she needed them. This could still be a trap, though she doubted it. Even so, she'd feel much more comfortable with Cain by her side.

Cain woke up with a start at Tovan's bark. Shuffling to his feet, he trotted to her side with Silas following behind him. Two strange wolves sat before them, one being a young pup. "Lameda's here." he stated although he wasn't sure how he knew. He just knew it. A few seconds later, Lameda appeared with her pack following. Lameda slowed as she spotted Cain before coming to a complete stop next to Kaji and Arden. "Cain..." Lameda tried to control the storm in her chest as she tried to figure out how to begin "I'm sorry I didn't send a messenger, but it was an emergency." she started forcing herself to look composed. Cain felt his body tense. Although Lameda looked calm, her eyes were an entirely different matter. He could see a million emotions running behind them. "The Rebels murdered two of our pack members yesterday (was it yesterday? I can't remember....Blah) We were distracted with Xelain's funeral...He passed away from age. It's clearly not safe at the Lunaris cave, so we came here immediately." Lameda felt a tear drop from her eye, but allowed no more. She felt her rage rise and barely managed to keep her body still. Cain stared at her in complete shock. After a full minute, he finally found his voice. "That is very grave news...I never imagined that the Rebels would sink so low. I'm glad you came and I'm so sorry for your losses. This changes everything." Cain stared at nothing for a few seconds "Lunaris pack you are welcome to all that we have here as always. Please rest. I know you must be tired from your run." He turned to Tovan "Tovan. Send a scout party to check our borders. From this point on we are doubling our patrols." He has become a fine leader. Lameda realized as she watched Cain give out orders "Cain. You and I must talk in private." She told him once he turned back to her. He nodded "This way." Cain led her to a quiet area in the woods.

Tovan realised that the Lunaris wolves were all probobly very tired from traveling so far, she she decided to stick with Pyralis wolves to use for the patrol. This way if we're spotted by Rebels, they won't know that Lunaris is with us, she thought to herself as she wondered which wolves to pick. " Solora, Blaine, and Silas. You will come with me to patrol the Rebel border. Croire? I want you to watch Ceris for me please." She then realised that it might be dangerous to go only with four wolves and added, " If any of you Lunaris wolves are fit enough to join, I'd be very grateful." Her eyes pleaded slightly, wishing atleast one Lunaris wolf would join them. " I'll go!" Rodenka replied, her eyes shining with excitement. Perfect, Tovan thought, Since she's new to Lunaris, the Rebel wolves won't recognize her if we see them. " Alright- let's go then." She said, taking off with a steady pace, her packmates and Rodenka following closely behind her.

Cain stopped once they were a good distance from the base, but not so far that they would be late if a battle arrived. He sat down on the cool grass and Lameda followed suit. "Are you wanting to attack the Rebels immediately?" he asked as if he had read her mind. Lameda sighed "Yes, but I don't think we should. I wanted to know what you think. It's been a hard few days and I don't want my heart make me make a foolish decision. If we don't be careful, the results may end up very bad. "I wish I was as wise as you, Lameda." Cain said causing Lameda to let out a dry bark of a laugh. "Cain you underestimate yourself. You were the one who stopped me in the battle with Daken. You see with clearer eyes then I." She explained and Cain gave a goofy grin. "Well if you say it, then it must be true." Lameda smiled at this "I think you are right on not attacking the Rebels. I think that if we fought now your pack would be reckless and against the Rebels we need team work. Not to mention you all are physically and mentally tired. That's what I think." Lameda nodded twirling her mind over what he had said. She had also been thinking similar reason, but it was comforting to hear them from another person. "Thanks, Cain." Cain shrugged as if he had done nothing "So are you going to introduce me to the new members of your pack? Am I that unimportant!?!" Cain put a paw over his heart. Lameda laughed "Cain, if you are unimportant then so are the Gods. Of course I'll introduce you to them, you silly wolf."

The five wolves ran along the river towards the Rebel border, their hearts racing with excitement. Tovan's eyes were full of uncertainty as she approached- what if the Rebels were planning to attack Pyralis next and were coming across the border at this moment while she ran right into their clutches? She thought this over for a minute. If that happens we'll just have to retreat as quickly as we can and run back to the camp- once we're there both our packs will be able to stand a chance against them. She frowned slightly, hoping she was right, and slowed her pace to a walk. A cold breeze blew through her grey pelt as she sniffed the air, trying to scent anything unfamiliar. The other wolves all did the same, searching around to make sure the coast was clear. After a minute they started walking again, Tovan's breathing a little steadier. Rodenka noticed how tense the Pyralis female seemed and grimaced slightly. She decided to look over a ridge to get a better view and almost barked in alarm when she spotted another wolf. She could tell that this wolf was female- it's glossy red and black fur covering her stroing muscles. Was this a Rebel? To Rodenka the idea seemed almost impossible. The playful and kind expression on this strange wolf's face couldn't possibly be associated with maliciousness and murder. Her mind cleared and she sank down into a crouch. " Blaine!" she hissed to the wolf closest to her. Blaine's ears perked as he approached slowly. Solora noticed that something was up and alerted Tovan and Silas. Blaine peeked over at the wolf and a growl surged in his throat. " That's a Rebel alright. And I doubt she's alone either." He said, looking to the trees. " Good work." Tovan sat, waiting to make a move. She wanted to see if other wolves were present before acting- for all she knew it could be a trap. Her breathing halted as her orange eyes scanned the surroundings. " Spread out." She ordered in a hurried whisper.
