History: A white she-wolf shook the snow off of her coat quickly before getting off of the icey ground. After trying to remember where she was, and even who she was, she remembered one thing, she was hungry. After being seperated from her brother and sister, she had run off to find some kind of safety, but hadn't found anything even slightly close. Even in her sleep she couldn't feel safe, she had nightmares about her mother, her pack, and about strange creatures calling to her from the shadows. She looked up, her blue eyes dazzling in the sunlight, and saw a strange shape coming towards her. She bared her teeth and growled weakly for she hadn't eaten in two days and wasn't really up for a fight. The human approached her cautiously, and held out part of her sandwich. The white she-wolf looked into the eyes of the strange creature and while trying to smell her, caught the scent of the beef sandwich, and licked her lips immensely. The girl held out her sandwich a little further, and the wolf decided to take it. She gobbled it down quickly and whined for more. The wolf had never really known her mother, and so she took this human girl as her new guardian, at least for a little while. The girl tried to pick up the now whining wolf, hoping that she had earned its trust. The wolf didn't want to destroy any chance that she had left of living, so she let the human pick her up. After taking her home, the girl knew that she couldn't take care of the wolf by herself, so she asked her mother. Her mother agreed, and told the girl to hide the wolf in the back shed, so her father wouldn't see it. The she-wolf lived off of these humans for about half of a year, but never lost her instincts, or her fight. She never grew soft, and let the girl only feed her, never stroke her or touch her. One day, the girl gave the white wolf a collar, but you couldn't really call it that, because it was actually a necklace, a beautiful silver necklace with a white-green stone hanging from it. The girl carefully put the necklace around the wolf, adjusting it ever so carefully. The she-wolf didn't really know what to make of the gift. She didn't really feel it on her neck, it didn't itch or anything, so she left it alone. That necklace was not what made that certain day so important, it was what happened later. The girl's father was out hunting, when he spotted the she wolf re-entering the shed. ( the girl had dug a place where the wolf could get out, so she would still be wild.) He opened the shed, to reveal the wolf, glaring at him, teeth bared. She had seen what guns could do, by watching the man in the shadows. She quickly darted out of the shed and ran around ten miles before stopping.
The white wolf looked around, she wasn't really hungry, she had eaten before she had left, but her throat was on fire, and she desperately needed water. She ate snow to stop the burning, but she still needed water. She listed for any sign of water, and heard the faint splash of water landing on ice. She followed the sound until she came to a half-thawed stream. She bent down and drank for about thirty minutes before finally stopping, The she-wolf sniffed the air and smelled what she had been hoping, yet dreading. Wolves. She carefully approached the smell, until she came to a brownish-grey Dragga. He looked at her with kind eyes, so she laid down in submission. The Dragga motioned for her to rise, so she did. "Who might you be?" he said, his tail wagging contently. "Um," She said amazed that her voice still worked even though she hadn't spoken to another wolf in a long time, "I don't have a name.." she said sadly. " My mother died before she could name me, so I don't exactly have one." The other wolf shook his head sadly. " If you want, I can name you." he said quietly. " Would you really do that for me?" The she-wolf asked, eyes shining. " Sure, I shall name you after my mate, who has sadly passed away." His yellow eyes looked down as he said it. The she-wolf licked his muzzle sensitively and said, " I know how it's like to lose someone."She said, also looking towards her paws. " Hey Cassia, would you like to join my pack as my adopted daughter?" After realizing that he was talking to her, Cassia replied by running around playfully in the snow, coming back panting, and replying, " Yes, sir. I mean Dad." A huge smile spread across the Dragga's face. " I have always wanted pups, but since my mate died, I haven't been with another." He looked at Cassia's light blue eyes and said," Come on, I'll introduce you to the rest of the pack. By the way, my name's Spartus. During the next year, Cassia learned how to hunt, and how to be a Drappa, because she would be a Drappa when Spartus died. She became the top fighter in her pack, even better than her father. But one day, something terrible happened. A human had been hunting and had killed Spartus and three more of the pack's members. Cassia loved all of the members in her pack, especially her father. She chased after the humans, and saw that it was the girl's father and his friends who wad killed her father. She knew that she couldn't attack them, and that made her madder still. Cassia now lead a very small pack, consisting of three wolves, counting herself. Once Canion died of a giant gash in his stomach where a moose had gored him with its horns, Cassia knew that she didn't lead a pack anymore. She and Sanyo, an old she-wolf were the only survivors, so they decided to go and search for a new pack. They had traveled for two weeks when Sanyo told Cassia to leave her. " It's my time to go." Sanyo said quietly. Cassia knew what she meant, but she could not believe her ears, was Sanyo really going to leave her alone in this world again? "Are you positive?" Cassia asked, hoping that Sanyo would be able to stay with her longer. " I'm sure, Cassia." Sanyo closed her eyes permently while Cassia told her a story that she had learned while in her now, old, pack. After she had finished, Cassia nudged Sanyo to find that she was dead. She howled a long, mournful howl that shattered the wind and seemed to make the world stand still.
Cassia dodged the clump of snow that was falling from a tree branch without much effort. She looked to the sky and wondered why everyone in her life had to either die, or dissapear. Maybe they were all dead, maybe her brother and sister hadn't survived. But the thought of them kept her going. Wolves saw her, and either ran frightned at the wolf that seemed to be a Drappa, or tried bravely to get her off of their territory. But Cassia ignored them, she was looking for a new pack, she didn't care if she was the Drappa or not, she just hated to be alone.
